Sinks are among the dirtiest places in the home, with a recent study published in Applied and Environmental Microbiology revealing that many sinks, even those in hospitals, are crawling with drug resistant bacteria. And the constant wear and tear we put on our sinks often means they look less-than-clean, even after they’ve been disinfected. The solution? After sanitising with an antibacterial cleanser, polish those taps and handles with some wax paper. Not only will this help remove water spots, the wax will help prevent future stains as well.

I always check the sinks when we stay at a hotel. Never use the water glasses left out. They can't be trusted.
